How was this for a coincidence?

Something today reminded me of a remarkable coincidence that happened a few years ago. We were on a family holiday on the Midlands canals, having hired a narrowboat for a week - the one in the photo. We had moored up for the evening and I sat in the prow area after supper, reading a book. I don`t remember what the book was, or even what it was about, but for some reason it made mention of the fact that Elvis Presley had been born in Mississippi, in the town of Tupelo. I had just read that paragraph when another boat passed by us. I glanced up to say hello to the boaters in question and noticed the name painted on the prow of their boat - Tupelo! Some people would draw all sorts of weird conclusions from that - but I think I`ll just stick with pure coincidence!

I always wondered where he'd got to! But are blue suede shoes all that suitable on board a narrowboat?

It probably just means there are a lot of Elvis fans around.

This is a strange coincidence. The owner of the other boat surely was a fan of Elvis.

I like to say that when you come across perhaps a new word or even just something that catches your attention, nine times out of ten you come across at least one more mention of it within a short time. We hired a narrow boat in Ireland back in the late 1990s - great fun.
