So I finally found a BBC murder mystery series that I missed watching when it was aired on our public television station. There is a site that streams TV shows and movies from all around the world. I stumbled across the website trying to find Korean drama, and found shows from Canada, the UK, and elsewhere. “Grantchester” is a TV series about a vicar who helps a detective solve crimes. In the episode I watched last night, there was a scene where the vicar had picked up a piece of evidence from the crime scene. It was a red ribbon. When he showed it to the suspects, one of them shouted: “Red is the color of the devil!” I'm like WHAT? Really? My favorite color??!!! Beautiful bright bold RED?! The color that bursts with joy and happiness and excitement?! It's the color of the devil??!! I've never heard that before. Clearly the people who came up with the Red Letter Editions of the Bible have a wicked sense of humor. That could be why they came up with Blue Letter Editions. I don't know. * * P.S. It's February 14th in my part of the world. HAPPY VALENTINE'S DAY!!

My point exactly. This must be something in Western culture. Because I know Chinese people love the color red.
I personally think blue is the devils color, if there is a devil. It makes sense of you think about it almost everything ee have been told is a lie, almost everything is opposite than what we think, we have been told that africa is primitive and that black

I love red as well. At one time no respectable woman wore red,it was the color of Immoral women, but that was long before my time.

Oh! That's why in that movie "Jezebel" which starred Bette Davis, when she wore a red dress, everybody frowned and was disapproving. Of course, when I watched it, the movie was in black and white, so I didn't really get the full effect. I heart Bette Davis. Huge fan!
Bette Davis and Henry Fonda in 'Jezebel'. That´s the scene before the popular 'red dress scene'.

Never heard it either but the old saying goes, I saw red, meaning someone was very upset.

I've only heard person using that expression. It was a friend of mine at university. She was such a sweetie pie. She seldom got angry. If she said "I saw red!", it was a rare occasion. It really had to be something awful that happened.
