My wife and daughter both like them but I've never seen the point. The patterns are very complex and I don't have either the patience or the time to complete one. If I had that much time to spare I'd rather spend it on myLot!

I don't see the attraction, either. The patterns may be complex but where's the creativity?

@ThreeTeddies 'brain switch off' -- That's a good characterisation.

@MALUSE It's supposed to a 'brain switch off' type of activity. I'd rather have a short nap!

I think they are too complex. It seems that you don't have much time to color.

@dya80dya I don't really have the time but I just don't see the point of them. If I want to relax I'll have a snooze!

@ThreeTeddies I like them because they remind me of my childhood.

@dya80dya I don't recall having any as a child - or maybe it's just my memory which fails me

Yes I actually have one I received as a gift from my Australian friend. I wrote about it back before Christmas. They are really fun.

@ThreeTeddies You use colored pencils, maybe that is the biggest difference.

@CarolDM Be it pencils, crayons or felt-tip pens they still don't attract me

I think it can practise the patience by coloring these books. I am not very interested in it. I like to paint my own picture much more

One of my friends likes colouring books for adults. I don't have any. I have seen that they also exist online, but I don't use them. I prefer to draw and paint on my own and create my own pictures

I cannot see the point of them at all. I hope no-one ever gives me one. I couldn't believe it when I learnt you could buy colouring-in books for adults. But I've learnt to hold my tongue about them.

They are a good idea, I guess. But I don't mind using the kids ones and saving money.

I am not much into painting and so would not go for such books. My hobbies are gardening, photography and such
