What do you do when you can't sleep at night?

Just asking as it is almost 5 in the morning and I am still awake. Last night I was busy organizing my photos for my new travel article until dinner time. Then I continued writing until 10. I was tired so I went to bed but just after I drunk Tru-Orange, a soda drink with an orange flavor. Do you think this drink made me awake all the time? I have not drunk soda before going to sleep before. I was tired and so I thought I could sleep but I couldn't. I kept on tossing in bed until I heard the noise of the roosters. I hate that sounds when I couldn't sleep. It was useless just to be in bed but awake and so I picked up my IPad from the corner of the room and started Mylotting. I am still here in bed wide awake hearing the sounds of the animals. I will continue Mylotting until I will be tired and be able to go to bed. Have a great day/evening wherever you are.

I meditate to get back to sleep. I've tried getting up and doing anything... but that doesn't work either. Meditating definitely will put me back to sleep!!

@thelme55 It helped me this morning when I couldn't turn off my brain... Took in a breath and counted to four, took a breath and counted to 8 and then started all over again. The next thing I knew, I woke up and it was morning!!

I don't do anything, after all these years I had accepted the fact that I'm somewhat a workaholic and a nocturnal creature. See I'm also still awake.

Sorry to hear you can't sleep. When that happens to me, I take half of a sleeping pill or I pray or I get up and myLot. By the way, what are roasters?

I hope you can get to sleep. I'm sure the soda had something to do with keeping you awake.

It was the soda that kept you awake. It is better to drink water. I hope you can get some sleep .

I see. It is just a waste of time trying to sleep when I can't. So, the computer or IPad is the substitute or a book until I fall asleep. Thanks @jaboUK

It doesn't seem like an orange soda would have caffeine. Maybe the sugar just gave you a burst of energy so you weren't able to sleep. No idea really. Usually when I cannot sleep and it has been hours laying there that way I will pick up on my phone and either browse Facebook or mylot.
