Absence makes they heart grow fonder

Such an obscure phrase which leaves one either believing it, or knowing it actually does not prove true. I have been away for over a month and I have been able to read the tsunami of posts that have passed me by during that time. It seems everyone on myLot has been very busy with travels and family celebrations and that is good news. Some sad posts inbetween which goes to show that LIFE is not always a bed of roses. I am not a believer of 'absence makes the heart grow fonder' but rather that when one is out of sight, one stays out of mind. A little cynical you might say, yes it is! After two weddings and a retired husband, I thought my life would ease up in 2019 and calm would be restored - no such luck. I have been extremely busy at the bowling club as well as getting the registrations finalised for the new intake of ballerinas at the Ballet school. My hubby is fishing in Namibia at the moment so I can relax a bit until he returns in March. We are planning a hiking trip for his 60th Birthday in May, but I am still waiting to finalize dates. We have decided to travel abroad NEXT year as 61'ners rather than this year. Not sure of our destination YET . . . . trying to fit in as many of my bucket list desires as possible (God willing) Visit - Copenhagen/ England/Poland/ Germany/ Hungary and many more. It has been great to catch up with many of you. Go well and Keep well sunflowers: Sunflowers symbolize adoration, loyalty and longevity and to bring Joy to someone's day - I wish you all JOY! the photograph belongs to my daughter, but I have permission to use it.

Nice to see you back. If you come to the UK, and you like hiking, then doing the three peaks is pretty good. That's Ben Nevis in Scotland, Scafell Pike in England's Lake District and Snowdon in North Wales. We did it last June/July. Some people do all 3 in 24 hours but we spent a few days in each location. Some beautiful scenery.

@Inlemay That would be good. We could invite all of the UK myLotters. I'll book somewhere. Maybe the Royal Albert Hall. I'll have to check if they'll hire it out for afternoon tea.

I'm with you Lany - i think it's more likely to be out of sight out of mind, except in cases where there is a really strong personal relationship. Good to hear all your news. It seems you are making the most of life.

I took time out here for quite a while too, and then when I returned you seemed to be absent. So, your husband is turning 60 in May, I turn 70 in a few weeks.

Welcome back Lany. In Italy we say "out of sight, far from heart", it was for fiancees, many times the distance is the reason to end a relationship. I did not forget you and I knew you were very busy with the weddings and the fact that your husband retired. Travel as much as you can, I am glad we did.

@Inlemay The doctor told to my husband that he must avoid to fly now, so we are limited to shorter trips. Eat well, every day!

You are never out of mind! Loved the photo of the fish he caught my goodness what a whopper. Plenty of fish fingers out of that one! How is it going with him retired now. Seems like you have been extra busy lately. I am retiring next month and I am really looking forward to it! Lovely to see you back here!

Oh he is catching the fish of a lifetime it seems, he has until March to fish then he will be home again. Retirement might kick in next month when we dont have any planned planning ahead 0 if you get what I mean. We need to start travelling - waiting for weddings to be over has been a strain on me, but I am ready for a new phase in my life. Good Luck with your retirement - I know that I am going to see you jet setting all over the place, the great advantage of being British or from the UK

Great to see your name appearing again. Sometimes we just seem to get more and more busy as we get older instead of slowing down.
