We are back from our short trip to Walpole on Western Australia’s south coast. We met up with Vince’s brother and his wife plus their daughter and her husband who are holidaying from York in England. The weather is often cooler there, particularly in the evenings. We went to several of the tourist attractions such as Greens Pool and Monastery Landing. The drive through the forest there is always quite awe-inspiring as the giant tingles and karris tower overhead. I’ve added a photo but I doubt any photo really does it justice. In other news, there has been a major bushfire in our area but we are not in danger. Balingup, a town near us, was considered under threat at one stage but the fire is now heading away for it – and us. We leave tomorrow to go to Perth and will be away three nights, probably with no opportunity to myLot so I’ll see you when we return.

Bush fires... I had forgotten that it was summer in Australia. Good that this one had the delicacy to avoid your place, but have you enough space for 200 more kangaroos

? Impressive trees ! i want a hut at the top. With a lift.

@Ronrybs I think our bigger fires do - those that threaten or take lives and/or towns. This one claimed two houses but otherwise just bush.

I hope you have a good time in Perth. And I pray that while you're gone the winds don't shift and turn that fire around and push it towards your home! Keep your fingers crossed that it continues to not be a threat to your community or any other community nearby.

I remember seeing some pic about trees in a forest. All the tree tops seem to meet up with each other in the pic, so awesome! Yours made me think of that.
