Fairytale Castle

Once while I was in Greece a few years ago, I have visited one interesting place. Fairytale castle in Agrili.
The story of this magical castle goes like this..
The castle was built in the 1960 by a US born doctor of Greece descent, Harry Fournier, who made his fortune as a surgeon in Chicago.
As you can see in the picture, there are three gigantic statues, one depicting the mythological Goddess Athena, the other represents Poseidon, God of water and the final one, a giant sitting horse (which is actually hold a secret library inside) there I am in the picture too but that is less important.

Wow, the statutes are giant, a library in the horse wow that is original, seems a lovely place.

@DianeBorg It seems to be abandoned. But it certainly leaves an impression.

@LowRiderX It would be a pity if this place is abandoned, I think it was make a tourist attraction, you don't see places like that everyday .

@DianeBorg There were no people at all, the castle is located on the coast, pretty isolated, about 10 km from Kyparissia.

It looks like an interesting place to visit. I would love to explore the place and take pictures. I have been to Greece, but I didn't see much of the country (only Thessaloniki)

@LowRiderX The historical part is one of the reasons why I find Greece fascinating. I was ill when I was there and I didn't get the chance to visit Athens and some of the islands like I planned. I would love to return in the future Did you visit many of the Greek islands?

Greece, a land of gods and heroes, the land of Homer and Odysseus, a land of worthy and happy people. The turbulent past and rich history have made it possible for you to revive the time from the ancient, Roman, and Venetian era with many historical cities and monuments.
Greece is a country where music is heard in every square until late hours.
And have most beautiful islands! (has over 1,400 islands!!!)
It's one of my unavoidable destinations every year

@Porcospino No, not many, just a few. Most of the island is uninhabited.

To be honest, I do not think this is the most photogenic picture of them.
I believe that they were much, much nicer
