A blast from the past

I wouldn't take our outfits as typical. lol We hate having to dress up but this one was important.

@playertwo It is awful when people get robbed.

They're great, aren't they? And yes, Queen of Hearts and the Mad Hatter.

We're supposed to be the Mad Hatter and the Queen of Hearts. We really don't like fancy dress but it was important for this one that we go along with the theme. We hired our costumes.

Yes, it's the intrusion that is most hurtful. I don't like dressing up much but sometimes it's important.

We found a couple that showed ear-rings and a necklace so hopefully they'll help.

The dress was pretty shapeless but that's okay.

@JudyEv But the colors and the nice smile make up for that. And that Hat! Oh, my!

@JudyEv If she asked for a themed Alice in Wonderland party, your costumes were perfect. I also dislike to wear a costume.

We had to hire the costumes. It's not our favourite thing to dress up but in this instance it was important.

@JudyEv I think so, but I honestly doen't know that for a fact. They were wild new kids on campus and they got caught and sent home...I don't know what the police did to them but they probably had that in their history for a long time.

I'm glad you liked our costumes. How awful that students broke into your house. Did they know it was your house?

You've hit the nail on the head re the costumes.

@JudyEv When my kids were teens I was a single mom and they threw a party while I was at work (I worked nights). My neighbor called me at work (he was an ex cop) and told me I had over 100 kids in my house, I told him to call the police for me. When I got home, they had gone through my room, my drawers, stolen a jar of change I was saving, stole gifts from my closet, even stole some of my kids things they had gotten for their birthdays. I felt so violated from that knowing they touched my things. I know how she feels, its awful. I feel for your niece and pray it never happens to you. I then took pics of everything we had of any value in case it happened again, the pics and serial numbers on things are a good thing to keep on hand.

@cintol That is awful to think they stole so much. What rotten people.

It must be awful to be burglared. Luckily it hasn't happened to us yet. When we get home (we're away at the moment) we're going to take photos of my few pieces of jewellery in case we're ever robbed.

It would be awful to have thieves break into your house. I'm glad you like the costumes.

@JudyEv Yes, a week back my cousin had such burglary while they were away for vacation. They have taken away a lot of valuables from the house.

We went to a hire place. We had to go as characters from a fairytale. He is very good about stuff like that. He likes to join in and have fun; more so than me really.

@JudyEv LOL... Hubby got dressed up for a Halloween party before we were married... I don't think we have ever done anything like it since!! That is wrong lol... when did we stop playing?? He went as a pirate and I went as a vampire!! He even had the long hair to pull back into a ponytail now that I think about it lol!!

@Hate2Iron We always groan when we have to dress up but mostly we try to do it just to support whoever is running the show.

@JudyEv The colors of his pants are the colors of the university I attended (and still live near today). I go to all their college sporting events, so I would definitely wear those pants to our tailgates and sporting events!

It seems there are a few myLotters who envy Vince his pants. They were a bit big - as you might have guessed.

@JudyEv I've costumed Alice twice now, I'd have to be really thick to not recognize done of the characters!
