I love it when I discover that I have money coming my way that I was unaware of.
Today I received an email with the heading above, and learned that someone tried to send me a check, but said check as returned to them.
My notice did not specify how much I was owed.
A cool thing is that the notice came from my buddy, Ben Watson, who was cured my erectile dysfunction, helped me with my retirement fund management, taught me recipes involving uses of leftover cauliflower, and hooked me up with a hot Asian bride who will not forsake me.
My question: What would happen if I went all @JolietJake, replied to the email, gave them my address, and waited for the check?
Am I too cynical?

How odd. At first I thought you meant your check had been returned to you.
Funnily enough yesterday I received a letter from the tax office saying they were sending me the overpayment I had requested. It seemed to be genuine as it was an actual official letter with my bank details on it. The strange thing is that I don't remember requesting any payment!
