Notice: Your Check Was Returned As Undeliverable

I love it when I discover that I have money coming my way that I was unaware of. Today I received an email with the heading above, and learned that someone tried to send me a check, but said check as returned to them. My notice did not specify how much I was owed. A cool thing is that the notice came from my buddy, Ben Watson, who was cured my erectile dysfunction, helped me with my retirement fund management, taught me recipes involving uses of leftover cauliflower, and hooked me up with a hot Asian bride who will not forsake me. My question: What would happen if I went all @JolietJake, replied to the email, gave them my address, and waited for the check? Am I too cynical?

Yes, I think you are way too cynical. You'll never get anything for free if you keep up with your present attitude.

How odd. At first I thought you meant your check had been returned to you. Funnily enough yesterday I received a letter from the tax office saying they were sending me the overpayment I had requested. It seemed to be genuine as it was an actual official letter with my bank details on it. The strange thing is that I don't remember requesting any payment!

@TheHorse That's what I am doing. I haven't checked my bank yet to see if anything turned up.

Of course, the best thing is to do nothing. If you're owed a refund, you will receive it.

@TheHorse I would not answer the e-mail because maybe it could be a scam. Maybe you should contact your friend and ask him about the check?

They could become very persisten too. I kept receiving some emails last week saying that I had ordered something and they couldn't deliver, please check my account again etc. (but I didn't order anything!!!)

I've been getting some about my "recent Amazon order" even though I haven't ordered anything from Amazon lately. Sigh.

@YrNemo I should just give them all my bank number, sail into oblivion, and see what happens.

Too bad, I suppose. That all aside I would think that the hot Asian bride would be a better cure for the erectile dysfunction than anything Ben Watson may have had to offer.
