Coaching Session: I Can't Wait...

...what are they going to say. I had received a text message from my online tutorial company and asked to book a coach session today. Now, I am waiting for it at 10 AM. Based on the SMS received, they wanted to discuss my performance evaluation. But I can guess what's the concern about. It could be the baby student (19 months old) that booked my class last time. I had shared this issue here. A baby who cannot utter any English words. With this concern, I can't wait what would be their points of view about it. Good luck to me! I am sure they will insist to continue the class even if I am going to be a clown during the class of this particular student. Regardless, I will just listen and not to argue with it. Since they will not hear me out anyway. Thus, I will be a passive listener later. Wish me luck to conceal my inner sentiments. "Are you a passive or active listener?" The best is to expose your problem and then stop talking and listen what they have to say.

I had raised my concern and the coach cannot answer the right solution for it. As I expected, there are so many problems shared by the other virtual teachers. It is a conference coaching session.

@Shavkat Not always is easy to find a solution to every problem.

@LadyDuck I do agree on that. For their concern, they knew the problems. However, they ignore them. In fact, they don't want to incorporate the solutions.

You said it right. I will try to use my magic wand. Perhaps it will work this time.

@Shavkat try all simple words to toddlers, something that makes them laugh, eg, twinkle, tickle, etc. (read the book the wolf and the 3 little pigs, 'And I will huff and I will puff & I will .... ' do that with an expressive voice - that is, if you can make that toddler stop saying baaaaabaaaaaabaaaa...

You are in quite a situation not knowing what is in store for you. Funny that they insist you teach this kid.

Well, even if I am teaching online for more than 5 years now, it is impossible to teach this baby. I will still decline the possibility of having a student as young as this.

It went well. The coach cannot address the problems or issues with this kind of concern. As a result, I just a passive listener along the course of the mentoring.

when it comes to a boss i am usually a passive listener. but if I reach my limit, i speak up and then that's it. either I will quit next or win the battle.

you are right, with them you should be a passive listener and try to hide away all the emotions underneath. They hear no reasons sadly.

Best of luck to you. I am usually an active listener and come up with questions to ask as I go along.

How on earth can they expect you to hold a session with this baby? It's just ludicrous.
