What's Better Do You Think??

-4 where we are now living or -25 where we moved from last summer? If you had asked me this time last year, I would immediately say that I would take -4 without a thought. It never occurred to me that -4 could mean snow that would need shoveling and apparently we are going to receive snow all week long. In Cooks Creek, they will be getting snow a grand total of one day of snow but frigid temps all week long!! And then I thought of everything we have left behind. I think that I'm really going to miss our garden and the fact that we could go outside in our pjs in the morning with no one about but maybe a few deer that had wandered onto the property... I guess it all comes down to everything else that comes with a move!! Onto our new little town. We can walk downtown for a coffee if we want... We have warmer temps... We have a smaller but still interesting garden to get to know. If I out-weigh out each location... I think that I would still choose here. You can bundle up against -4 quite easily but -25 is a little more difficult. I think that was the big deciding factor. We actually had a lettuce freeze while walking for the supermarket to the car! Which would you choose if you had to pick one place over the other??

I grew up in Canada, spent 20 years in Alabama and now live in North Carolina. Canada is too cold for too long. Alabama is too hot and humid for too long. North Carolina is a nice balance between the two: Summer can get pretty hot, winter can get pretty cold (though not -25 C) and it snows a couple of times a year.

It's warm for days and I hope we're done with the winter and we will not have more snow.

I have no idea what the next few months will bring... each year can be different from the previous!

@Hate2Iron You're right. Last year, we had snow in March.

I'm not sure.. Temperatures aside, I'd prefer a more rural place. Though being walking distance to a town might not be so bad, provided the town is cute and cozy. As for temperatures, I'd want to live where it was not so bad most of the year. Where it might get cold, but never too hot. I can not stand it being too hot.

I do kind of miss the rural feel of our old house. I really miss the deer!! So, there's good and bad. I want to combine both locations so I have the best of both!!

@Hate2Iron If only... I've always said I'd like to have a beach house and a mountain house. I'd also want a little apartment on the top of a bakery in France...

I think I'd be staying in your new place. -25 sounds just a tad too cold for my liking.

It's definitely better than what we were slowly getting used to. I honestly don't know how they handle the cold!!!

That's a tough decision but I think I would have made the same one as you did. I hate when it's too cold

I am liking these temps... now if I could just do something about the snow! I wasn't counting on quite this much!

We moved from Southern Ontario (the Golden Horseshoe) to small town East Coast. The weather is a bit colder... The pace of life is so much more relaxed. I think we made the right move.
