I finished this little piece of cross stitch yesterday. It is a Paula Vaughn and I think it will go beautifully in my Florida Room. I am slowing planning how I would like to decorate it and this seems to be in the sunning for a special spot on the wall. Once I get it all ironed out and stretched and framed it will make an interesting focal point. After years of stitching and selling or giving always pieces I have decided it is time for me to enjoy the 'fruits of my labors'. We have already been out and about visiting my sister-in-law. She needs help fixing the floor in one of her bedrooms and wants the hubby, her brother, to help. Now we are home and the hubby is looking forward to the NASCAR race that is on today. As for me, I will probably lay down and rest. I will also be putting a little time here on myLot. Hope everyone is having a happy, healthy, relaxing day.

That is a charming little piece. I'm glad you've started to cross stitch for yourself now. What is the Florida Room? I mean, I guess it should be self explanatory but...

@HazySue Oh that sounds lovely. My great grandmother had one of those, well sort of. It was her sunroom / porch. Technically it was part of the house but it was enclosed and had been for many years.

@HazySue At least those are restful occupations to do while you are recovering.

I am doing my best to take good care of myself. I have the need to keep busy. Writing and stitching is the activity of choice for me at the moment.

We have an unusual day happening here... it isn't snowing... it isn't doing anything at all. I have been crossing things off of my to do list and it's getting shorter and shorter!! I'm in a contented place right now!!

That will be a while from now. I have to do all the prep work of framing it and get my furniture picked out and arranged to see where to hang it.

It had a lot of regular cross stitch plus half cross stitch and back stitch. The design makes it look harder than it was. It took many hours to complete but the stitches wer4e very basic.

Its raining cats and dogs! I will stay inside. I sold many of my cross stitch pieces when I used to do it but I also enjoyed many, especially the Christmas scenes. Your work is beautiful!

Thanks. I also used to sell a lot of stitched sayings. They were quicker to finish and sold so fast.

Love your artwork there, I don't think I will ever be able to do that (used to be okay in my teens and 20s, but suddenly my patience just gone after that).

I find it relaxing but not eve4ryone does. I have a friend who tried and didn't like it. She said it made her too tense.
