Preiti still starves herself and of late the starvation period is on the increase. We also notice she is pacing in that she does not rest for long but keeps walking around. . I did try to find out the causes on the Net which are several She does not whine and so I assume she is not in pain. I do not like to see this change in Preiti

The last time my dog wouldn't eat he had pancreatitis, have you talked to a vet?

We have got her blood tested. Strangely her starving has been off and on and that is what is confusing her Vet. These days I find her looking very thin and she keeps pacing. I am worried. What were the symptoms in your dog?

@allknowing He was listless and when you pressed on his lower belly it was uncomfortable for him. He wouldn't eat and he really scared me I thought he might die.

@allknowing Just relax. If she is not in pain or getting too thin, maybe it is nothing. Have you checked for worms?

She is being constantly monitored by a Vet. This thing about giving up food and then getting back to it is what we all are confused about. Have discussed this issue with several Vets and also searched the Net but there is nothing about why she does this.

Our cat was like that. Poor Presto. Hopefully the vet can find out what is wrong soon. Is she just getting old?

She will soon be 12. Have consulted several Vets and have also searched the Net. Her symptoms of eating for a few days, starving and then getting back to eating is a situation no Vet has understood Now this pacing is what is worrying me.

Did the vet check her teeth? It came to my mind that the dog of my niece time by time stopped to eat, she had a teeth problem.

Thanks. I have been surfing the Net since August. I have consulted many Vets but have received no answer. Her blood work is fine. This habit of eating for a few days, then not eating for another few days, getting back to eating is not something any doctor is able to know why. Drips and boosts have kept her alive.

If she has started pacing, maybe she is in pain. Does she show any reaction if you press on various parts of her? She may not whine because animals are programmed to hide pain so that predators don't know they are vulnerable.
