Animals and Alzheimer

As some of you know our dear Preiti lost her life to Alzheimer something we shockingly came to know just a couple of days before she left us. Her odd eating habits are now attributed to the arrival of this dreadful disease. Her non stop pacing aimlessly sealed her fate. I spent time to read about Animals and Alzheimer and realised how dreadful that disease is when it visits animals. If you see any of the signs that you see in your pets as described in this link below you could remedy the situation before it is too late.
Aging dogs can show mental symptoms similar to Alzheimer’s disease

When did Preiti die? How sad that even animals have to suffer with Alzheimer’s.

I have had one dog with it. She would get lost in our yard that she had lived in for years.

I know that animals get Alzheimer’s disease, the cat of one of my friend was affected. He got lost inside the house, he did not know if it was the time to sleep, to eat or to walk, he did not recognize people anymore. Exactly like humans. It's sad.

It all started with her food habits about which I have written. Eating for some days, then not eating for a few days and again starting to eat had nothing to do with her digestive system. We know that now

@allknowing I wonder how Alzheimer did not pop up in my mind. Humans affected do the same, they "forget" to eat or to drink for days, they are confused. What a terrible disease.

I think those kind of illnesses attack us when we became old age.

Vets that took interest in Preiti's erratic eating habit could not associate that with the disease until she manifested other signs.

I wonder why animals suffer so much. They have the same diseases as people.

I have written a post on that Since Preiti was starving she could not endure the walking she was doing non stop searching for nooks and corners and collapsing there. The last collapse took her away. It was shocking and unbelievable that a healthy animal could succumb to this
