New Users trying to explain to me how Mylot works

Go climb that sand hill. Two steps forward, one step back...

Parallel universe, twilight zone, I don't know. I love a good discussion and basically, that is what Mylot is all about, right? The discussions, the awesome topics, the interaction between international members all around the globe. Different lifes, different views, different backgrounds and different ways... Phew, but some seem to be "too different". How should we deal with members ignoring everything that Mylot stands for? Sure, reporting anyone or any wrong discussion is one means of dealing with it. Lecturing them can be tedious - for both sides. What would be your advice on this topic? Your experience and insight will be valuable

If some are "too different" for me, I limit my exposure. A little bit is enough. I think you and I have always gotten on well, regardless, and I am always glad to see you pop up here.

Did you change your nickname at some point? I just imagined you'd have more posts from old mylot than the number says. I guess it is like in the olden days: if it is clear violations then report them, if they're just annoying figure out who they are and then ignore them. If they tell you how to use mylot, maybe tell them to check your bio? It says you've been here for 4 years, so you should have a clue. Trying to figure out who's here regularly and who's just posters passing by (and annoying everyone while doing so) seem to work, although it takes some time, so I'm not there yet for "new" mylot

@stine1online I checked my messages from back then, we discussed some of them. They seem to have disappeared, can't remember seeing their names here

No, this is my second (or third?) account. Had some hickups and battles with other users I am not proud of. I had to re-invent myself and am trying to behave. But this account here is already 4 years old.

I ignore some discussions. I haven't reported any so far I've been on here. I did delete a comment once when it wasn't on topic of my discussion.

@stine1online Block those that you cannot reason with. If you cannot ignore them then report them to the Administration.

Those who have been around a long time always do a good job managing newbies. The members who put forth real and good effort reap the rewards and satisfaction. Those who chose to do things their own way but do not follow the guidelines will not last long here.

maybe your small activity number is why they think you're new. just ignore them and do your own thing
