Movie Review - Devil in a Blue Dress

Today a local theater played host to the meet and greet for UntitledTown 2019 by showing the movie Devil in a Blue Dress starring Denzil Washington. I expected a lot more from a meet and greet than a movie. I figured the movie would be included as part of the activities, not be the entire event. They showed the movie because the author will be here next month as a presenter for UntitledTown and will be signing books.
As for the movie, I wasn't expecting what it was - set in the 1940s is my guess, could have been the 1950s. California. A time when black people were not thought highly of, more blaming them for everything that went wrong, including the two murders the police wanted to pin on Easy Rawlins (Denzel Washington). Down on his luck, looking for a job, he gets mixed up with someone who wants to hire him to find a woman.
The movie depicted the era well. Good acting. I normally wouldn't watch that type of movie, but it was okay. I give the movie a 3.
After the movie, I planned to go to my son's to take care of my car, but no surprise, due to flooding, he can't get to it today. I didn't think he would. I was surprised when he said he could get it done today. I guess he hadn't been outside yet to assess what the driveway looked like.
Still some flooding, roads closed off, but not like yesterday. It's starting to recede, though the East River is still over its banks.
That was my afternoon. How has your day panned out? Thanks for reading.

@just4him I do hope you get your car back soon. It is such a drag being without transport more so in the USA because distances are much bigger than here in little old England!

Nothing too exciting, more writing, went out to dinner but we met a couple at dinner and ended up exchanging information and plans to meet next year when we come back.

Nothing much going on here. A sunny but rather cool day and I was working online as usual. Hope you have a good evening.

Sounds like a good movie. I don't think I have seen it. I haven't read the book.
