Along with songs that have "eyes" in the title that weren't hits I'm counting down my favorite "big hit" eye songs. As with yesterday, I'm sticking with the brown eyes. And, as with yesterday, this is probably one that a lot of people had Monopoly money bet on showing up in the list. He did the song because his former boss, Buddy Holly, recorded it. And, of course, from there, it goes back to rock and roll's daddy, Chuck Berry. A fun song about the trials and tribulations of women in love with brown-eyed guys. (Maybe one of them was Van Morrison's "Brown Eyed Girl" from yesterday? ) Personally, I prefer blue eyes to look at in a man....but that wouldn't have made this the same song, now would it!!
