So been having so so so many problems with digestion here lately and it seems I am not the only one. Yet it's almost impossible to eat right these days unless you are rich or able to eat like you always have with no problems. Special food is so expensive. Of course unless you live where you can grow a garden.
You have to have so many nutrients. Like in peanut butter and nuts, milk, veggies, fruit, etc. Daughter and I have IBS so dairy is bad for that. We also have bad teethe so nuts and candy don't work so well. etc. etc.
Almost anything you name is good for us but not for other parts of the body.
Fact is I don't think I know anyone without digestive problems.
What made me think of this is when daughter came in earlier and ask me did I have any Zantac. Of course I do. practically live on it.
Then Clay came and ask did I have any Gasx
a couple hours after he made our dinner. (yes he did for once make dinner)
Of course I have Gasx
I have those and Pepto-Bismol, Tums, and Marshmallow root tea packets. plus different laxative type things
Think I have digestive problems ?
So tell the truth bet you do too. No wonder I am so cross at times

It seems that digestive problems run in the family on my mother's side. My sister has really bad digestive problems. She is pencil thin these days and will not tell me how much she weighs but I think its under 100 pounds. She has GERD really bad and the medication she takes makes things worse.

both sides of my family had it but it seems to be everyone i know these days. obviously our food is killing all of us or at least making our lives miserable.

@bunnybon7 For example,"Lenitive Pill" and “Pill for relieving Stagnancy”,both are made from several sorts of Chinese herbal medicines respectively.

i do. i read all directions and still i end up taking them because i get desperate for relief. sometimes i wonder which one of my problems will be my demise .
breathing, arthritis, or digestion . and lately they are pointing out heart problems. maybe all will just come together and finish me one day soon

I make an infusion of peppermint and sip it very slowly and let it steep about ten minutes at least and it usually does the trick.
Sorry to hear you have those problems Bun.
Have a great weekend ahead a nice peaceful one.

You might be eligible for special meals from a group we think is called
Florida Cares.
We don't take anything not natural and avoid what does not agree with us. Yes, this is harder to do for some to deal with, but you are not able to be as active as others, so would it make sense you might have more issues.

in this house they over spice everything. sometimes i get away with making a request of not spicing something just i am eating. like cook it with the other peices but just don't put extra on mine or even any. but still most common things mixed together i end up not being able to eat much of.

No I can honestly say I have never had any problems, I thought that was normal.
At one time almost 20 years ago now I lived in the US for a few years. I remember seeing huge bottles of indigestion tablets and suchlike in the shops - I was taken aback, never seen anything like it! I also used to house-sit for a friend when they were away. She and her husband were both doctors but again I was astounded to find their bathroom cabinet was full of medicines for indigestion, constipation etc. etc. This is definitely not good, especially as chronic inflammation can cause changes which lead to cancer.

yes maybe the US is not so good to live in these days. all things considered , seems other countries in your area are better off health wise and lots of other ways. wish I had moved when I was able.

I have IBS - or so the doctor has said, and he said dairy isn't that bad with it when I asked if I had to stop having it. so I don't know.. I also have bad teeth, but wont stop having candy.
I dont have digestive issues. neither do my mom and brother. my boyfriend does though, with heartburn.

the Tums and Zantac work for heartburn to some degree. I used to crave candy and eat lots of it every day. Then some circumstances changed in my life and was unable to think on it much. too busy. one day about a month after, I realized I had stopped eating candy without thinking of it
Also, I think IBS have different causes in different people.
enjoy a nice Milky way...my personal favorite now

@Courtlynn when I was young like you, I also never had a problem no matter what I ate. Mine could just be old age I guess

@bunnybon7 my boyfriend does take tums for his heartburn. doesn't always work, depends on how much spicy stuff he has eaten before taking it. I also know milk helps some people with it. But I have hardly ever had heart burn so wouldn't know.
I don't eat nearly as much candy as I used too, but I still eat often of it most days.

My children’s father had to take Prilosec every day or he would throw up from badly trapped gas.
I had IBS with constipation as a kid plus was lactose intolerant. Then as a teen it turned to no matter what I ate I had diherrea. After having my daughter the lactose intolerance stopped and so did the diherrea from everything I ate. I still go after every time I eat but at least it’s not diherrea anymore. Seems most people diagnosed with Ibs were very different from mine so makes me wonder if the doctor was wrong. He didn’t do any testing or anything.
