Cotton Owl

Our local state park rescues wild animals they find hurt all around the park. They have two rescued owls right now. One is named Cotton, have not met the other one yet. Cotton is so pretty. The other owl looks like her but a little bigger. Cotton was found in the snow as a baby. Her wing was injured and she could not fly. Thankfully the park ranger found her and now she has a safe home at the park. The ranger will take her around the the schools and talk about her. And they will have special events at the park for the public to come and see her and touch her as he talks about the species. She is a barred owl, sometimes called a hoot owl. The park is only a few miles down the road, so I visit her often in her cage. She is a beauty and even though it is sad she can never be in the wild, thankfully she is alive and is safe. This photo was the first time I saw her during one of the special park events with the park ranger. I actually got to touch her, she was a beauty. Ever seen an owl or wild animal up close?

I don't think I have seen an owl, but I have seen others in the zoo. Great photo, and thank you for sharing about the owl :)

I've seen plenty of owls especially in the trees. Owls watch way up high in the trees and hoot.

My parents once had an owl living in one of their small trees. It let me get near it and I could see it up close. It was precious.
