Luna is not eating

I wish I knew how to understand dogs. Luna doesn´t look ill, but she is not eating. Still, if I give her any snack she wants, she will eat it all. What I´d like to know is if I should still give her food mixed with other things Or that I should stick to dog pellets. What I give her over the pellets is the water of the tuna cans when I have them or some yogurt. They don´t look like they would be dangerous. What do you think?

My dog sometimes skips a meal or two, especially during the summer when it is hot or if the weather is changing. Every once in a while I get worried and sprinkle a little bit of cheese onto her food or add a little bit of cooled scrambled egg to convince her to eat but I try not to make a habit of that. Usually that does the trick. If you are worried, the best plan is to always consult a vet.

I think I did too much of that on the hot summer days. Now she won´t eat normal dog food.

Greek yogurt (with no added sugar) is good for dogs, also tuna is good, so I see nothing wrong with what you give to Luna. She is surely tired to eat all the time the same pellets.

That´s what Marco told me. I´ll buy her another brand of pellets for a while.

@LadyDuck I won the human-dog battle today. I spent 2 days taking away the food from Luna´s dish if she did not eat soon (half an hour). The ants arrive then. She discovered that either she ate at breakfast and dinner as she did when she was a little puppy, or she would go hungry. And no yogurt or other niceties to help her eat. Today I won. She ate fine in the morning and at night. After 3 or 4 days go by, I will give her a yogurt at another time of the day as a reward for something else.

@marguicha The cats here around do the same. I change the brand of the dry food I offer them time by time. I should stop feeding them, they have owners, but I love to spoil them.

Have you changed the food. Our dogs wouldn't eat a different brand of food we got them. We were shocked as they would eat anything. Maybe the particular food you got was off or something. It can happen like a bad batch.

She eats well if I add delicious things to her food. Maybe she is tired of her pellets.

Sorry, I am not a dog expert. I know I would worry if my cat Sid didn't eat he has the appetite of a horse. I would suggest you see how she is in a couple of days and if she is still off the food then I guess you need to consult a vet.

She eats fine if I add the water of a tuna can over the pellets. Maybe she does not like the food anymore.

I'm sorry to hear this but perhaps she is just not hungry. Does she look well otherwise?

She does. I guess I´ll change her pellets. Maybe it is that.
