Played music in a nice service for a friend today

A friend of mine, a bass player in some bands I've been in, died recently due to complications associated with diabetes. Today, we held a celebration in his honor. Many of the musicians he had played with performed, and BBQ ribs and chicken were served. It was bittersweet, of course, as we were celebrating the life of a friend who was gone, but the music he enjoyed and the love his friends had for him were present. We also got a couple of kids to come up and play with us. I believe they were his Grand-nephews, and both were about 10-years-old. They seemed to enjoy the experience, and I hope Jim's spirit enjoyed seeing his love of music passed down a couple of generations.

It was a good day. On days like that, I get all unscientific, and more sentimental, and hope that his spirit was watching and playing along.

@TheHorse Which is what it should be in most cases. Bit different if it's a child or young person.

The loss of a loved one is bad since we all lose someone we love. However remembering them is one way to keep the good times going in our lives.
