Meeting online friends for real

I have been not here for Mylot for such a long time and it was because of my job and my studies. During stressful times, I take the time to study foreign languages and that was the time I met a Korean woman. I guess there was something that easily connects me to her and we get instantly close to each other. After 2 weeks of chatting, she visited me with her mother here in our country. They are both nice people and although we have different cultures and languages, it does not become a barrier for us to have a good relationship. Her mom only speaks Korean and my mom only speaks Tagalog and understands only little English. My friend and I became their interpreters.

I guess that's a good way of knowing others and that includes culture.

@annierose Since I am teaching online, I considered some of my students as my friends. However, we are not allowed to get their social media accounts. It is a big no to my company

It helps to know more than one language especially if you want to make friends abroad.

When you connect with someone like you did, you manage to get along whatever languages you speak. And welcome back. I hope your studies are going well.

Wow! That is sweet! Where did you bring them here in the Philippines? Did they like our country? Are you planning to visit their country too?

I could not join with them for their whole stay here. As her mom is old, they cannot go to many places. They visited my city, Manila, and Makati.

That's great you've met a new friend and can be interpreters for your mothers.

I connect easily with most while some are tough to be with as they tend to be needlessly secretive. Good that you are busy with other activities. I am also not that active here but log in every day - siva
