Anyone Else Awake Right Now?

I won't say good morning yet as its way too early. I'm sitting on the couch, drinking coffee and watching TV. The time is 1: 27am and I've been up since 1:00am. Just like clockwork, I usually can only sleep 3 to 4 hours each night. It used to be so frustrating but after 10 years, I've gotten used to it. I have neuropathy in my feet and the pain from that is what wakes me up. I get up to take my medication and once I am awake I can't go back to sleep. Every once in a while, I get to sleep until 3 or 4am but that is a rarity. The good thing is that I am retired and can take a nap later if I need to. So, is anyone else like me awake and can't sleep?

I always go to sleep from 10 to 10:30 pm, but I wake up early in the morning, never after 6 am.

I wishI I could sleep until 6am. Ever since the neuropathy has gotten worse, I just can't stay in the bed.

I was awake at 5:30 but that is normal for me. If you have pain in your feet it is a good idea to try to keep them warm. Make sure you wear some socks.

I can't wear socks. Neuropathy causes my feet to be very sore and extremely tender. Sometimes it hurts just to touch my feet and wearing socks to bed is torture.

Sorry to hear that you can't sleep either. At 63 it takes its toll on me and I have to take a nap during the day.

I wish I could stay up until 2am. My medication won't let me stay up long. I can go to sleep no problem just can't stay asleep because of these darn feet.

I woke also, and got up for a bit. For me it was from a night-sweat, once I cool down I'll return to bed and to sleep.

I remember those lovely night sweats. Fortunately I don't have them very often anymore. I hope you were able to go back to sleep.

It is frustrating. I only sleep 2-3 hours then I have to take a nap because of lack of sleep, then it starts all over again. Like a stupid circle that I can't get out of.

I was awake last night when you wrote this, Sharon, but I was working on the books I'm editing for a newer author. Her series have been taking most of my time for the last three or four months and I am only just past half way done with her manuscripts... It will be a while yet before I can come back to myLot and play like I was doing! I sleep like that, too. I've gotten used to taking cat-naps when I get tired and then back up and working on whatever I was doing before I got sleepy.

That's what I do too, but instead of cat naps, I sleep for about an hour or so. Your job sounds so exciting!

@DaddyEvil Why don't you do editing as a full time job?

@simone10 Sleeping half an hour to an hour at a time is what I call cat naps. Editing is a side job for me. My day job is selling cell phones and cell phone plans. That can be fun, but usually isn't. *shrug*

I'm lucky, when I go to bed I fall asleep fast and I sleep all night. I usually go to bed around 10 and I wake up at 5.. My husband is a earlier riser too, by 6 he's at the YMCA doing his daily thing...I read the paper and visit myLot with my coffee...

I would love to be able to sleep like that. I used to. It doesn't matter how busy I have been and how tired I am. My feet will wake me up.

So sorry to hear about your neuropathy awakening you. On the few times a year I can't sleep, myLot is where I turn. (It's so nice having you back again - ) Hope you can take a little nap soon.

I guess it needs to be aware of sleep changes when the time comes. For now, 3 or 4 hours of sleep is not enough. Enjoy the rest of the day...
