So, I recently posted about how I've been re-watching Six Feet Under (crickets) so, there was a song I heard on there last night that struck a chord with me. I vaguely remembered it from my youth. So, I found it intriguing enough that I had to look it up and find out what it was. The band is the Amboy Dukes Featuring Ted Nugent - and the song is "Journey to the Center of the Mind." If you were around in the 1960s, do you remember this song at all?

I'm a 90s kid but I heard this song through the "Nuggets" compilation CDs which basically had a bunch older/obscure rock songs on it. It's a great song and it's stuck with me.

It was that refrain that sounded familiar. I'm glad someone else remembers it.

I haven't heard of it. It has an interesting sound to it, reminiscent of the 60s.

That makes sense. It came out in 1968, and the sound does reflect its era.

I do remember that one. And his other noteworthy tune "Catch Scratch Fever."

Are you old enough to have been listening to music in 1968? I am 62, so I would have been 12 years old when this came out. I doubt very much it got a lot of airplay on mainstream radio. Still, it sounded vaguely familiar. But then, my upbringing might have not been typical of a 12 year old at that time.

@DianneN Well, there's old, and then there's old. Are you old enough to have been listening to FM radio in 1968?
