how good are you at taking prescribed medication?
me, if the prescription was 3x a day for 7 days, i can follow it on schedule for 2 to 3 days
then i start forgetting and it deteriorates to 2x a day onwards so it ends up taking 8 to 9 days to finish everything.
i guess i could get away with it when i was younger.
i never had any serious illnesses.
also, if i wasn't sure if i've taken it or not, (for example, lunchtime) i'd rather skip it for fear of overdosing then take it dinner time.
oh, well. i guess the safest way is to start using a pill box now like the one in the picture.
how about you?

I always forget to take my maintenance for Highblood. I only remember it when I feel something which is not good they used to say.

are you calcium pills huge, too?
why do you take baby aspirin, if you don't mind me asking?

@hereandthere Yes, they are rather huge, but they now make smaller ones. I take baby aspirin just 3 times a week to reduce the risk of stroke or heart attack. However, more than that can cause other neurological problems.

@hereandthere I usually keep the box of pills on the table if I have to take them during the meals, I put a sticker on my toothbrush if I have to keep the medicine before going to sleep.

I usually take all of my pills in the morning! Even the one I am supposed to take at night because I always forget it.As for antibiotics I am fairly strict with those and take them on time if and when I need them! You need to keep the serum levels stable in order to kill off the infection!

yes, i've heard about that - that you have to take all the antibiotics even if you "feel better" already.
so you don't use a pill box?

@hereandthere Yes I do but you Must finish all the antibiotics because if you don't then the bacteria will become immune to it so if it flares up it will then be resistant to the infection. It is imperative that you complete the course!

You really should have your pill box so you can not have an overdose. It is better to skip than to have an overdose.

I take my medication before I go to bed. I don't forget it, it is part of my ritual like brushing my teeth. We have a calendar on the fridge. I write an "x" when I have taken my medication.

@hereandthere Yes, the calendar is a good thing. If I don't remember if I took my medication or not I check the calendar.

Maybe you have to make a list for that or put a reminder in your schedule in your table for you to see.

I don't have any maintenance meds yet but when I'm sick and has to take meds I sometimes forgot
to take them on time, especially when I'm pre-occupied. I just got off on meds may be two weeks ago. Just recently my vaso mator rhinitis worsened and I have to take meds at 5pm and nasal spray at 7pm for two weeks. For the first few days I was right on time and then start missing time ( an hour late or more
) days later. I'm starting to get forgetful on a lot of things lately.

@hereandthere I don't know, doctor told me perhaps the weather. I have a lot of allergies. I have reactive airways and suffer from asthma too. I also use inhaler puff. Not to mention my skin allergies. I have contact dermatitis, I think I shared about it here.

I usually have an alarm for my morning med. But inspire of that ,I forget basically in the morning rush. Just a couple of days ago I couldn't for the life of me remember whether I took my pressure pill.or not. Finally took half a pill...So either overdosed by half or under dosed .
Those pill boxes look useful
