The Sea Beckons Again

It is already dry season here in my country, and during this time, I always love to be near the sea. It has some magical "spell" on me; love the scent, the sound of the waves specially at night when am sleeping inside some thatched hut by the shore. It lulls me to sleep, lessening my worries, so relaxing! Do you also love the sea? (my photo of one of my favorite beaches)

You are lucky indeed to be near the lakes and beaches; but I do not like the lake, it sends some eerie feeling to me. I do not know why, so I just like to look at it but do not bathe or swim on it.

I just had visited one a couple of weeks ago and it was such a refreshing feeling amidst the hot weather we are having.

@acelawrites I dislike hot temperatures, I have a very fair skin and I get sunburn. I like to look at the sea but not to go to the beach. When we lived in Monte Carlo, we saw the Mediterranean sea from our windows.

@LadyDuck it could be a very nice view; I only see it in the movies or when featured in some TV magazine.

Am glad you also love the sea. That one in the photo is not so beautiful as the other beaches I had visited, but a friend owned a small resort there with thatched huts for overnight guests, and I love to wake hearing the waves!

Yeah because it's " amihan" season or the trade winds, cool Northeast winds to counter the hot season., very relaxing.

It is "amihan" or "habagat?" Maybe I am confused. But it is getting warmer these days.

@acelawrites it's amihan , roughly estimated amihan starts between November or December and ends around May or June.

That is a beautiful photo! =) I love the ocean sounds in the cooler months-I'm not a beach lover during the Summer though-unless it's evening time.

@hereandthere I hope so, and the people living near it are already conscious of protecting the sea; there are local government ordinances that regulate resort owners to follow environmental laws.

No, it is not! It is in Laiya, San Juan, Batangas. The sand is not so white; it is somewhat brownish, but the water is so clear, although it is also a fishing village. Some parts were developed into resorts.

Same here, I find it so comforting to the spirit; I even talk with the ocean while am laying flat, floating on it.

Sure it is, very calming especially at night or at dawn when it is so silent, and you hear only the waves.

I do love the sea! (That’s a beautiful pic you’ve added to this discussion BTW.) I have some trouble on boats, though...motion sickness. I can maybe stay on a boat for 10-15 mins., but that’s it. Otherwise, I’ll feel that swaying motion for the rest of the day, sometimes even the next day. (Middle ear problems). Same thing happens on a plane. Or elevator. Or I could keep going but I won’t.

Thank you. Having motion sickness could be so discomforting. I had that too when am younger, when I was at the ship then even after a day, I can always feel the rocking motion of the waves. It's good I don't have it now. I hope you'll also feel fine soon so you can enjoy boat rides again.
