in these days of over processed foods,we now have many veggies that..well,once packaged for customers barely resemble the original.
over salted,goop added..
canned red kidney beans?enjoy draining the..what is that? slime out of it for 10 minutes..
tasteless tomatoes..
you know, the purchased foods,i've you've never had home grown,is so startlingly different taste and texturewise, and sometimes even color.
home peas? way greener.almost nuclear green.
but the one that really gets me? spinach.
open up a can.
*sliiiiiiide* *splorp*
yea.food that goes splorp is always appetizing.
now i know how my cat feels.
and the water!
does it ever stop?
you can drain that for an hour..squeeze it again..
more water!
natural spinach isn't like that.
is it growing season yet?
come on,summer.
i can't wait for tomatoes that taste like something.it's the best

I can’t garden anymore due to the deer and lack of being around during planting and growing season, but we do buy organic fresh fruits and vegetables from our local farmers. I never used canned fruit or veggies. I do buy frozen baby peas.

I don't do canned anything but I do love those pasta sauces in a jar and I love frozen veggies and fruit. It's hard to get a lot of the veggies you may get. The climate here doesn't allow for large veggie crops so most of ours is shipped in by truck so even the "fresh" produce wasn't ripe when it was picked.
