Look around you and you'll see that it is not 'normal' but it can happen. The French President Macron married his highschool teacher.

well I'm asking this because for young ladies with men twice their ages doesn't matter but for young men seems to be an issue ... it like coming out gay

@blaqdu Are young men who go out with older women considered gay? Why's that? A woman is always a woman whether she's young or old.

@MALUSE no i meant to say people tend to hide it because they feel like the society will not take it ..

@blaqdu Why should the government interfere if both partners are of age? It's only illegal to marry underage partners.

Hahaha well, not long ago a guy just married a woman twice his age and the Government did not even interfere... which means it's normal and illegal just wanted to know what people think about these situations in our society

I don't know whether I'd say it was normal or not. As long as both people are of age then I don't think anything of it. My partner is 10 years older than me. Some people think that is a big age gap but I'd never really though about that. It's true that we don't choose who we fall in love with. Age is just a number.

@blaqdu that's a good question, and one that has also confused me. I supposed we're just used to the man being older than the woman in the relationship. My partner and I have dated people of different ages - younger, older, and the same age. There's one theory that women mature sooner than men so it would make sense that a younger woman would be with an older man but not vice versa.

I love your point here... well for women being with men 10 years older it's not a big issue but my question was why is it always questioned when the female is older than the male...

I don't see anything wrong with that. Love is blind, So long as there is love between each other, why not?

Well, I think that's okay as long as they really love each other, not because of coercion about something

yeah!! this happens but mostly it's common for ladies to men, not men to ladies. its always questionable when a young guy is in relationship with an elder lady but through history, men have been with young ladies and its not questionable

I don't know if it is normal but I think it is just a number, it depends on the two people. When I was 24 I dated a 35 year old lady, it didn't last very long and when I was 37 I dated a 22 year old and that also didn't last very long so maybe age gaps do make a difference? Then again a lot of my relationships don't last that long....hmm maybe it's just me?

@blaqdu :) Well every situation is different just do what you feel is right, as long as no one involved is a minor, then it's what ever is best for the two of you.

I think it's normal for as long as your intentions are good and genuine. Most of the guys who were attracted to me were eight years younger than me. I'm only 29 and somehow, I find it a bit too cringe but I got used to it by now.

Why not, dear? After all, it is love that matter most. There is a saying that goes, "Don't judge the book by its cover. " Look inside of it. What's there? The love that they have for each other. Society sucks sometimes. We judge according to what we see without even thinking and realizing that they're human too and love happens at all ages.
