Have you every tried a salad sandwich? Have you ever heard of a salad sandwich? What is a salad sandwich? I had my first salad sandwich today for lunch. Basically it is veggies and fruit placed between bread, croissants, rolls, or any other choice of bread type food you choose.. It all depends on what you used how good it is. The salad sandwich I had was made out of a croissant with pumpkin seed topping, sliced tomato, baby spinach leaves, sliced red bell peppers, a slice of low fat American cheese, and sliced fresh strawberries. It was absolutely delicious. The only thing I would change is the cheese. I would use provolone or swiss. I now have a new, fairly healthy favorite sandwich.

Not sure I have had that, but I do love tomato sandwiches..that was something the former roomie turned me on to, and they are good.

In France they make a salad Sandwich "Pan Bagnat" that I had when we lived there. I find so much more comfortable to eat a salad in a dish.

@HazySue I am trying to avoid to eat breads (or alike), I feel better if I skip bread.

I typically eat my fruits and veggies in a bowl but was delighted to find out how delicious this combination was.

@LadyDuck I do to for the most part. Have you ever made a sandwich with the ingredients rolled up inside? It's great for a lunch.

Looks nice. Very colorful. But I am not sure if I can eat them with bead. I prefer eating them on their own

@HazySue you can try to make it with baguette. It is very delicious. Just spread butter on a half slice baguette. Then put a lettuce leaf on it, tomatoes, cheese, salami, eggs, mozarrela or whatever you want to have in this sandwich.

Never made a salad sandwich but sure it is very healthy. I do make a tuna salad but without the bread

I usually get a veggie at Subway so except for the fruit that is my usual. I would actually love to have the fruit included.

That is a good idea for those days when I don't want to eat as much meat or when I am out of cold cuts but do have plenty of bread around.

I have now tried a couple of different fruits on a salad sandwich. Some of them add that special zing to it.

We all have our own food habits. One of my daughters does not like her servings of food to touch each other. I used to have a plate with different compartments that she used.
