Why yay!?
Yay! Because I have been sitting here quietly commenting on your responses to me, and looking around and responding to lots of you guys.It is relaxing and friendly.
Yay! Because although it did have a big drop in temperatures, it did not snow. I do not think it even was a freeze here.
Yay! Because I went out and looked at my herbs and such. For sure, I have rhubarb. I have two kinds of lavender that survived the winter. There are three kinds of mint that are coming up. I have parsley, and oregano as well. Oh, and lemon balm and yarrow. There may be two or three others.
Yay! because it is the weekend.

The mint is spreading, I have to take care of this. Oregano is a perennial, it is starting to show up, the sage is also a perennial as well as rosemary, thyme and tarragon. Parsley unfortunately is not a perennial, at most it lasts for 2 years, I have to re-seed this year.

Yes, parsley is biennial, we are told to start new plants each year so that we will have it continually. Rosemary does not always survive the Kansas winters, it is more subject to loss than the oregano.I am waiting to see if it comes back and to see if my sage comes back. I believe it will. I have not checked my planter where I have thyme. It is lemon thyme.

@GardenGerty I have to trim the oregano because it is almost an "invasive" plant, same for the mint.

@GardenGerty I need to have an herb garden. That would fit on my patio.

I want an herb garden in my kitchen so bad, but the roommate's cat would destroy.

These are all outside. I do not get enough sunlight indoors to have good luck with herbs in the winter.

@GardenGerty uuugh I have read where herb gardens are good in the kitchen. Only with good sunlight? Possible in the winter? Many people use jars on the windowsill. Any advice?

I have a teeny, tiny crocus blooming in front of the house. The snow is all gone this morning (finally) and the temperature this morning makes me think that spring might actually be here!

I have some tulips I just saw last night. Someone who lived here long ago planted bulbs on the east side of the yard, and they come back. I have some daffodils as well.
