Diary 9th To 14th April 2019

Diary Tuesday 9th April 2019 A day of job searching, and preparing the final blasts of publicity material for my book launch, a week today. Diary Wednesday 10th April 2019 The last book club meeting this season, as the university students involved go into exam preparation after this, followed by the Summer holidays. There will be more books in the Autumn. We finished with The Eight Mountains by Paulo Cognetti, which a reviewed in an earlier post on Mylot. I rushed home on the promise that a recorded interview with me on my book would be aired today on the Gregg Davison show, but despite a clear promise of this by his producer, Kate Booth, as an apology for it being chopped from the schedules two weeks ago, it was chopped again. When I complained to her she begrudgingly admitted the decision was her own, so absurdly the same person telling me it was definitely going on the show made sure it definitely wasn’t. I now just have a third, though vague promise from her that it will air ‘soon’. She berates me for complaining about it because her bosses might not renew her contract. It is therefore not her fault for doing me wrong, but mine for complaining about it and getting her caught. Doh! Diary Thursday 11th April 2019 I went to the job club today and mentioning my book is due out to one of the volunteers (who already helped me with some publicity for it, earning a mention in my acknowledgments), he created a very nice publicity poster for me and pinned some up in the community centre. Thank you Nuri. Diary Friday 12th April 2019 I would have been due for my next weekly or monthly bus ticket today but as I’m away to London in about five days it is cheaper just to pay journey by journey fares now. I called in the university to collect travel expenses from recent voluntary work activity and did some shopping, before going home and starting my packing, including my last laundry activity before my London expedition. Diary Saturday 13th April 2019 And Sunday 14th April 2019 Two days of packing, catching up on my writings, making sure I have everything ready and generally relaxing. Arthur Chappell
