My mother has had to be re-homed. At the age of 103 (104 in July) she has reached the point where she can no longer stay in her own flat, especially following a fall and a prolonged stay in hospital.
We went to see her last weekend in the care home where she is now. One major benefit of this home is that it is a three minute walk from my sister's house in a village near Eastleigh, Hampshire.
That is my wife Sue sitting next to Mother.
It looks like a decent enough place for her - the staff are excellent and caring, although some of the other residents (most of whom are somewhat younger than Mother, who is definitely the oldest resident) suffer from dementia, which is certainly not the case with Mother.

I used to work as a caregiver in the Home for the Aged in Germany which has had an incredible surge of elderly population. First world countries need this home for the elderly because children need to work to keep the economy moving and homes as such are perfect. However, there is no substitute for the more humane care of family members in her own home.

She hardly looks here age. That would be a good decision to re home her where she is taken care of.

I'm so happy your mother doesn't suffer from dementia or Alzheimer's. I'm sorry she fell and was in the hospital for a long while. She must have a lot of stories to tell with living such a long and wonderful life.
