My son request me to buy him a box of donut (Mr donut) so I tell him were not going to buy mommy will make donut for you, that is what I say to my son, and he say okay mommy,
so while he waits me he enjoy doing his coloring artwork like what I share here in my past discussion, i make the story short. so I prepared water for a boiled for the sweet potato and after the potato is soft, and let it to cool, I remove the skin and flattened it then I put 1 teaspoon of salt and all purpose flour on it then I mix it, after that I formed it like a donut and of course I cook it in a deep fry, then I prepared another frying pan for the sugar to caramelized it and after to caramelize i put donut and now my finish product,
So far my son like it and also my husband, I'm happy to saw them eating my home made donut.
Photo was taken little while ago.

I think that is a healthier alternative and would save you some money. We never tried making donuts from " kamote" or sweet poratoes. Looks like you used the yellow variety instead of the violet?

@resukill22 yeah the violet ones would look like Dunkin donut's ube doughnuts or their purple yam trickles flavour lol!, I love " kamote-Q", I love sweet potatoes, I ate a lot of boiled ones the other day and I just placed a little salt and butter. I can survive on potatoes ( not sweet) even without rice

@resukill22 it's hard for me to feed the kids with food they rarely see it in the table, with doughnuts they wudnt think twice to eat it without asking what are the ingredients.

@resukill22 I don't like the sweet taste. I like normal potatoes.

Interesting! I don't like sweet potatoes but they do look really good. My mom makes donuts as well, but it is normally out of regular biscuit dough, but I prefer them over store bought donuts any day.

A home made sweet potato donut sounds interesting, though admittedly I'm not a sweet potato fan much.
I'm glad your son & husband like it!
