Preparation

In everything you do, you need preparation. That's what I've been doing today. I went shopping for snacks this morning for the next three days. Searched online for the best place to park without incurring fines or meters tomorrow, made hard boiled eggs and have 13 small potatoes in the oven right now for the next three days. My briefcase is ready, my itinerary is printed up and I have my ticket in my bag. I bought three salads for lunch over the next three days.
I'm ready for UntitledTown.
Tomorrow's first session for me is at 10 AM with Christian Fiction: What is it? Why W Write It. Next at Noon is Workshop: Writing and Faith. At 2 PM is Inspired by Research: Using Historical Research in Creative Writing and the last workshop for the day at 4 PM is Workshop: Fantasy & Sci-Fi Worldbuilding.
As you can see, I have a long day ahead of me and it all sounds exciting.
UntitledTown kicks off tonight with Michael Perry and a benefit concert featuring the Long Beds. Tickets were $30, which is why I'm here and not there. I've seen Michael Perry in person and he's one funny author.
I also spent the day working on Thread of Evidence because I need to turn it back to my publisher next week. It's coming along very well. I'm glad I decided to read through it. I found some holes that needed filling, made corrections, and even deleted some text.
I took a much-needed break and watched a few episodes of Designated Survivor with my friend down the hall. I told her she would like the series. She's hooked. Now, I'm here with you for a couple of hours. I'm not planning to go to the pool tomorrow, so I can get as much done as possible before I leave.
How much planning do you make when you have something important happening? Thanks for reading. Below is the link for UntitledTown so you can see which authors are here for the big event, which is almost entirely free. I'll be at the downtown library for every session tomorrow. That won't be the case on Saturday where I will be in three different locations but will be back at the library for the final two sessions I'm attending on Sunday.

@just4him Well that is better than being under-prepared!

Thank you. That's the plan while I learn all I can about my craft.

It depends on the situation, the opportunity, but yes, I am also the one who is preparing and planning and yes, I do not like to wait for the last moment, I always finish my preparations on time

@LowRiderX For important things, I like to be prepared, like this past weekend. Otherwise, I tend to procrastinate.

That is a really good price and I noticed it included a free trolley to get around. You are very wise to be prepared for the event starting with committing to being there just as it is a commitment to write. I suppose for the event you will not be doing much writing except for taking notes? Wishing I was there.

@just4him The main thing is you are showing up for the event and that accomplishes something right there. What I've found with these journeys is to expect the unexpected and of course you don't know how you be feeling. Hopefully it will all be good and you'll be able to get a lot out of it with some good memories as well. I like taking notes but then sometimes think I've missed something but writing after an activity when things are quiet that's different. That's just me.

@mynameiskate I took lots of notes today, except for the last session. The presenter had a handout of every point in his presentation. I did get a few notes outside the handout. It was a great session.

Wow you really like to be well prepared before leaving. Good for you though.
Ive never really needed to do much preparing for anything. Just shower, pack and leave when going to the boyfriends.
