Waiting for over an hour at the bank to speak with an associate

My CD matured yesterday and I had to go to the bank so I can transfer that money to my bank account. When I got to the bank I knew that I could not do it with the bank teller and had to actually wait for a bank associate (or whatever their title is) to be available to get this done. I got to the bank around 4:40 pm. There was only one associate available and she was busy with customers. It was clear they were having issues and she was trying to deal with that. I sat down in one of their chairs to wait. I waited and waited, for at least half an hour, but she was still with them. I was getting a bit impatient, especially since I had to pee and had to go to the hair salon. I went to the bank teller just to confirm that I can only do what I needed to do with an associate. The answer was affirmative, so I had no choice but to go back to my seat and wait. The wait was at least another half an hour. The associate did approach me once to ask what I was waiting for, so I wasn't completely ignored, but that didn't make me feel better. I had to pee real bad by then and wanted to get to their hair salon by a certain time, and did not want to wait much longer. Whatever issues the customers were having were still not resolved. The associate went to get what I assume was the manager to help. When the manager arrived she still remained with the customers and they were both dealing with them. I looked at my watch and saw that the bank was about to close. Finally, after a total of a little over an hour of waiting, the associate left the customers with the manager and called me over to another desk to help me. Within a few minutes they left and I was the only customer left in the bank that was now officially closed for the day. Dealing with me took probably around fifteen minutes or so and that was it. Everything was taken care of and I was able to get on with my day. However, I had to pee so bad I wasn't sure I'd make it to the hair salon in time to get to the bathroom and do my business. Fortunately, somehow I managed to get there without peeing in my pants. I got to the bank at about 4:40 pm and left the bank at about 6:15 pm. That's a very long time spent there for something that took only about fifteen minutes to do. This is the first time I experienced something like this at a bank. Outrageous! They should have more than one associate available at all hours. I wonder why they don't.

That's much too long to have to wait for someone in a bank. Hope you were able to get your hair done. Enjoy your weekend.

It sure is. Never had to wait that long at a bank before. I was able to get my hair done thankfully.

@lovebuglena At least you were able to get your hair done! Even on a miserable day; and now you don't have to go back today!

@LindaOHio Yep. Glad I did that yesterday because not in the mood to drag myself to the salon today. Take a little over an hour to get there from my house.

That is way too long to keep a customer waiting. Thank goodness someone finally helped you, even though the bank was closed.

I agree. Way too long of a wait. Hope it never happens again.

I was contemplating that but after having already waited a while I didn't want to leave and then have to drag myself to the bank again, which wouldn't guarantee a fast service anyway.
