Got a Little Bit Done Today..Ha!

While I didn't get everything marked off the "to do list" today, I did make some headway. Here's what all I got accomplished: **Picked up more sticks and limbs in anticipation of mowing yard soon. **Knocked down the burn pile some by shoveling the burned ashed into the wheelbarrow **Shoveled the ashes into various holes around the yard. **Burned about 1/3 of sticks and limbs picked up. **Planted a couple of potato plants **Regular chores for chickens and chicks I came inside and collapsed with a big glass of ice water. I told my hubby that I wasn't used to manual labor. Shoveling ashes is very tiring. Photo: Pixaby, public domain

To me thats a lot of work. I am only used to an office job where I sit at my desk all day and work. Dont think I would manage to work like you.

@ramapo17 Yep that would be excellent exercise and equal to lifting weights.

I love being outdoors so as long as the temperatures are not scorching, I'm okay.

I never had an office job @mayka123. I worked from the time I was 16 until 70 and always stood up and sometimes lifted a lot of heavy items. I never liked exercising but lifting 50 pound bags was my exercise.

You have chickens and chicks? So you get your own eggs? That must be nice. I like all kind of animals, never had much to do with chickens but I'm pretty sure they must be nice.

@Torunn Yes, I do. And yes, I get fresh eggs and never have to buy them in the store. They taste so much better than store bought :) I just bought some baby chicks this year to add to the flock and have a variety of ages so they don't all die at one time.

@kareng That must be really nice! How old do the hens get? I've heard that hens used to get quite old, but in modern factories they won't last that long.

@MommyOfEli2013 I'm just holding the bucket while hubby is on restricted activity following surgery in Feb. He should be released in May and be able to get back to chores :)

You sound like me when I lived in Riga, Latvia with my late husband. We had a large garden and when we would get it ready for spring it was on those days I practically crawled back into the house. But you did get a lot done so good for you

Yes, but tried not to over-do it. I need to take advantage of these 4-5 days with no rain. Wish me luck :)
