Meal Plan/Prep ~ Week 1

I finally got myself in the meal plan/prep way of life....I should have started this earlier in the year....but at least I am getting into it now. I really think it will help me stick to low carb. What have I made? 1. Lasagna casserole (2 pounds of ground beef, seasonings, pizza sauce, ricotta cheese, Colby jack cheese). I portioned it out into 8 servings, I will freeze half. Each serving has only 2 carbs! 2. Barbecue Sauce -- I made some sugar free/no sugar added BBQ sauce. I used store bought no sugar added ketchup because I didn't want to make both last night. Made 1 cup, which will have 2 carbs per serving. 3. Crockpot Cheesy BBQ Chicken (currently in the crockpot). Almost 2 pounds of chicken, 1 block of cream cheese....and will probably add half a cup of barbecue sauce (or the full cup haven't decided). Not sure how many servings I'll divide it into yet, or the carb count. This will be dinner tonight. 4. Bacon ~ kind of a fail. I cooked this with something else and the temp was too high so I burned most of the bacon. I have enough for 2 meals that is okay though. 5. Salmon ~ I have 4 servings defrosting and will cook them in the air fryer tonight. Thinking on what flavors/seasonings to add. How does that sound so far? Have you done meal prep/planning for the week? I'm always up for more meal prep/planning ideas :)

If it does good to your health, and helps you to lose weight, go for it! I don't have any diet, or special meals to eat, I just try to work out as much as I can. PS: I was hungry while reading your meals.

I think it will, if the only thing I really have to make is some eggs then I am glad. I think it will help.

Excellent! My meal prep days are long over. Good luck. It all sounds very smart and wise, not to mention well thought out.

Thank you! I know it might not sound the healthiest since there are no veggies, but it is a healthier menu for me at least!

Thank you, glad you think it sounds good. Well whatever works out best for the two of you, that's what matters! This is meal prepping just the meals for myself since my husband and Eli don't eat low carb....although my husband will probably eat some of the meals lol

It sounds well planned. I do not use a lot of spices, just salt and pepper in powder.

Thank you, I am trying....and salt and pepper is good. I like lots of flavor so I add lots of spices.

@Nevena83 It's the carbs that holds onto the salt and water. On the diet I am on....it is recommended to add more salt since without carbs the body releases the water.

@MommyOfEli2013 Just do not forget that too much salt, keeps water in the body.

Good girl! That's the way to do it! When you have food already made you won't be as tempted to eat something else.
