Happy May day everyone!

May morning is traditionally quite a ‘thing’ here, people get up before dawn (or stay up all night) to greet the sunrise and participate or watch various activities such as a choir singing from the top of a tower or Morris dancing (traditional English folk dancing) in the streets. Many of the pubs also open at 6am. I wasn’t feeling up to any of that but this morning certainly was a beautiful morning! I had to take my car to the garage and it made the perfect excuse to walk home through the bluebell woods. The May (Hawthorn) blossom is smothering the hedges and the smell really says ‘spring’.
