Heat wave across North India

Currently we are having temperatures in the range of Normal +2 to Normal +4 in many places. Indian capital city Delhi recorded 43.7 C yesterday. Lucknow had 44.6, Khajurao had 46 plus and many other had 44 plus. The average this time used to be between 39 and 41. And from my own experience, anything above 42 is dangerous and one can get heat stroke. I too have to go out in the heat sometimes but I make sure to keep on drinking water. Yet this is a sign of things to come- we are already facing the effects of Global Warming. And my heart goes out to states where people are facing drinking water shortage as well as draught. Well I am hoping that things improve.

Oh my goodness, this is very hot. I can imagine the poor people without air conditioning and fans, this is horrible.

@LadyDuck yes those without fans and AC have a very tough time but many of them are resilient.

Those are high temperatures indeed. I think there is often high humidity there too. Is that right?

@JudyEv it is dry heat. From mid June onwards, humidity increases and in some ways that is more unbearable, though the chances of heat stroke are less than.

I am very sorry. I imagine that the poor people suffer the most.

@marguicha yes some of them even die due to heat stroke and lack of medicines, though increasing prosperity in India has reduced this over the years.
