Time to "shape up" with a trivia series of terrific tunes with an exercise term in the title.
When thinking of fun ways to burn off calories I would put dancing near the top of the exercise list. You don't need to go to the gym to dance, although they do have danceasise classes. Instead of the gym, you could be a "Dancing Fool" and get your groove on in the privacy of your home. Remember Tom Cruise in the film "Risky Business." Although I do recommend you avoid the couch!
So let's get this party started with a tune from one quirky fool Frank Zappa...
Hope you enjoyed that bizarre musical video and the accompanying lyrics. And now it's quiz time!
Whodunnit? Do you know these songs and artists:
1. Marvin Gaye was one of the Motown co-writers of this big hit for this female group. This tune became a trademark song for them. This #2 Hot Billboard hit was written during the height of the civil rights movement in the U.S. when many African Americans took to the street in protest. The song had a very simple message... not to demonstate, but for everybody to rejoice and have a very good time.
2. This was the only one of this band's 14 US Top 40 hits to make it to #1. it was conceived as a dance song with the working title "Boogaloo." This tune could arguably be the world's first europop disco hit. The group's name is a combination of all the members initials as an acronym. The 2008 film Mamma Mia!, was based on the band's songs. Another of their songs "Waterloo," was a #1 hit in the UK and helped to eventually establish the group to a worldwide following.
Bonus: Mick Jagger teamed up with another artist to cover the first trivia song above in 1985. It reached #1 in the UK. Do you know the name of the other famous singer?
Ok, now it's time to "rip through those clues" and answer the trivia quiz!
If your stuck and need additional help just let me know in your response. You can "lean on me" if more clues are needed. As always, thanks for reading and responding to my music post !!!!
