If there is one great feeling that New York Police Department (NYPD) Detective Sean Daly is having, it is the awesome feeling of rescuing an elderly man who was stuck in a wetlands behind the Staten Island University Hospital on Friday.
The elderly man whose name was not released, had missed his bus ride to get to his doctor's appointment at the hospital.
The 83 year old elderly man decided to walk into the wetlands that he walked through when he was a child.
What he found out was that the wetlands had changed a lot since he was younger in which he was trapped in the marsh, called 911 for the authorities to rescue him.
NYPD helicopter pilot John Martin and Detective Sean Daly spent around one hour looking for the man when Daly admitted that he was able to spot the man when he saw a small hand movement from the wetlands since he fell down after he felt tired from walking on the wetland.
The man was rescued by Detective Casey when the pilot of the helicopter was able to take both men into safety by hoisting them up into the helicopter.
The elderly man was cold, tired and wet. However he is in good condition.

@Deepizzaguy also it's a good thing that the old man had the presence of mind to call 911.

Glad it all ended well but boy, that was not smart to walk right into wetlands. I once missed a bus from a mall in Staten Island and thought of walking a distance to get to another bus stop I wound up at the gates of a mental hospital. lol

The elderly man was lucky that the detective was able to find him in the wetland when he saw his hand waving at him.
