Is This What You Are Waiting to See?

I haven't done a side by side for a long time. I also haven't lost any weight in a while, though I have been slimming as my clothes can testify. The picture on the left you might recognize as the one I was going to use for the back cover image but decided it was too orange for my liking. The collar wasn't right either. However, you can see I'm looking a bit trim in the picture. The one on the right was taken on Thursday when my friend took the picture for the back cover of the book. I don't find this picture flattering, but hopefully, you can see, I've at least maintained the weight. I haven't lost any weight yet this year and we're now five months into the year. I'm still hoping to see something on the scale as I have a goal in mind for my birthday which is two months away. I need to break the barrier and start moving down the scale again. For now, I'm finished with notifications. I'm going to work on Guns of War for a little while, then come back and see how you're doing and post the next writing tips. I hope you're having a great Saturday and I hope for those of you who have seen nothing but rain this month, that you are seeing sunshine today. What are your plans for today? Thanks for reading.

At least you are maintaining your weight and not gaining any. I wish you success and a bit of luck in reaching your goal by your birthday. What's puzzling me is why you haven't lost any weight in five months.

That's puzzling me too. Considering I'm not cheating on my diet, at least I haven't more than three days in two years. My goal is three pounds. I hope I can do that. I like teeter-totters, but not this kind.

@just4him 3 pounds seems easy, but I know you can do it.

@DianneN It seems easy and after posting that yesterday, I escalated another four pounds instead of going down the two I needed. It felt like I took a bounce when I hit the ground with that teeter-totter and flew upwards. Now I need to come down 6 pounds to get to my original weight and 9 pounds total.

Both photos you look gorgeous. If I was asked wich one I would chose for your book, I'd say the one on the right. Why? It simply looks clearer, love the blouse color, and the background works for me. That is the author I would like to see in the back cover of the book I bought myself.

Thank you. The one on the right is the full picture. The head shot was taken prior to that picture. Purple is my favorite color.

I don't think I have ever taken a side-by-side photo before. I don't think my look has changed all that much over the years, except that my hair is more gray now. People I run into that I haven't seen in a long time say that I look the exact same as I did many years ago. I tell them that's because I stopped aging when I hit 30!

@just4him I visited the Fountain of Youth in St. Augustine, FL, and drank some water from the well. That's what did the trick.

That's great you stopped aging. Maybe it's the fountain of youth you found and aren't sharing with the world - hmm? Anyway, it's great you haven't changed. I'm changing and for the better. It takes time getting this weight off.

I'm sorry you haven't lost anything yet this year. Maybe you need to change it up a bit? Somehow.. And see if that helps any. Goodluck on that goal.

I don't want to start eating junk food to jumpstart it though. I know I need to do something.

@Courtlynn I know I've added some things to my diet lately - cauliflower pizza crust, almondmilk yogurt, and non-dairy cheese. I've looked at the sodium levels of each and it's not bad, but the fact it has sodium might be the culprit.

@just4him Oh, I wasn't thinking junk food.. just a different order of food, or something you;'re not already eating.. or maybe even a little extra walk every other day

You've definitely lost inches, by the photo on the right! It's a big accomplishment, maintaining that loss of pounds for over two years:) Good job!

I like both photos but the one before the fireplace is not as bright so it might be better to use. You can just use a head and shoulders shot if you like. I love the color purple. I am just finishing up online now. Hope you have a good night.

I'd agree with Andria about the head shot being more suitable for a book cover photo. But, looking good. I know you say you have not lost any weight, but whether it's the lighting or whatever...it looks to me like you are indeed trimmer.

@just4him Yeah. Head shot is always best for a cover author picture. But yes, you look trimmer even if you say you don't think you lost any weight. Sometimes it is the lighting, sometimes it is the background. Either way, keep it up, don't lose faith, and the efforts will pay off. BTW, I think your scale needs to be calibrated.

Trouble is, I don't want to maintain. I still have a long way to go to get this weight where it needs to be. Thank you. At least I'm not gaining more than the 4 pounds. I get to the top of the teeter-totter and then come down. I'm always hopeful I'll continue going down.

Most books just have a head shot so I don`t think a full body picture will be used. I know what you mean I am stuck on a weight, however, I have built muscle and my clothes fit, still, so.... I will cut back.

Neither of these pictures was for the book cover. I had another of the one on the left for the head shot. This is a full picture to show whether or not there is any change.
