It was raining for most of the trip, but it was still lovely.

Can you see the picture? I think it came out pretty well since I can never actually see what I am taking. Yesterday, after the Andy Griffith Museum (I'll share two more pictures of that eventually) we went down the Blue Ridge Parkway. It was kind of fun, but very rainy. We saw a wall cloud (tornado) at one point, but it was off in the distance. We stopped at all the scenic views from where we started on the Parkway to when we exited it. I love going on the parkway, it's just so beautiful! What's your favorite place to explore?

What a shame you had such a bad weather. I love to explore the old villages around the lake Lugano. I love to walk there, it is all the time an interesting visit.

@LadyDuck Oh I see. Do they offer boat rides at the lake?

There are a few mills along the Blue Ridge and even an old cabin that belonged to a woman, I believe she lived to be 100. We werent' able to look at the info for too long because we could tell it was about to rain. I love exploring as well. Over here we have signs that tell us of the history of an area.

@ScribbledAdNauseum We have signs on the walking path around the lake. There is also a small museum about the smugglers. The border with Italy is very close and the lake is half Swiss and half Italian.

I love the Parkway too, especially the Southern part down near the Smokies. Where is the Andy Griffith museum? My sister has been to Mount Airy, the town the inspired Mayberry. I should go, It would probably take me less than 3 hours..I have been to the Walton's museum and parts of the town and homestead..that is not super far from here. They have a nice visitors center.

@ScribbledAdNauseum Yes, Mount Airy is the town that inspired Mayberry. It must be pretty far from you though. I thought it was a bit more central.

I would love to go to the Walton's museum. I'll have to look into that for the future. The Andy Grifith Museum is in Mount Airy, I want to say it was on Main Street, but if not it was not too far from it. It's in the "Andy Grifffith Playhouse" complex. The tour we did was in the squad car. We had to go to Wally's Service Station to get to it, and the cost was $40.00. They also have Model A Car tours, I'd like tdo that next time. We were able to go into Opie's Candy store which was kind of cool. The town thrives on tourist revenue honestly. There was a Walker's Soda Shoppe that I wanted to go into but it was closed. You'll have to look around at the architecture, there's a quarry in the town and a lot of the town's buildings and houses have stone.

The weather may not have been the best, but it seems like the trip itself was.

Looks like it was raining pretty good out there. I like exploring anywhere outside. I really like just being out in nature and enjoying it.

As do I. I was thinking of taking a walk. It's sunny but I'm not sure what the forecast calls for. There's a park in my neighborhood, it has a walking trail that makes you feel as if you aren't just a few feet away from a busy thoroughfare. I also really want to trespass (I won't) on a property at the end of it.

@ScribbledAdNauseum LOL, maybe you can find the owner and see if they will let you enter the property.

@Bensen32 I need to look at the map. I think I know where the property begins. it used to be a farm but it's not in use like that anymore, or alteast I don't think it is.

If you mean towards the camera? That's fine. However, the other way? You would die. We were up in the mountains.

@Janet357 It's very beautiful up there. You drive the parkway and get to see beautiful views. There are many overlooks that you can stop at and learn about.

I love history too! There were a few sites along the Blueridge with history but it was raining and so we didn't get to see all of them. There was a cabin that we wanted to go look at it but it was going to start downpouring and so we got back in the car and traveled on.

The picture came out just a tad darker than it actually was, but we did have a lot of rain clouds and spotted one wall cloud. I didn't take a picture of it.
