I Messed Up as a Wife

So I think it is fair to say that most people assume that if someone does something wrong in a marriage 9 times out of 10 it is the husband's fault right? Well I managed to be the one to mess up big time in our marriage. It wasn't anything as bad as like having an affair, I could never do that! No, what I did was lose my wedding ring. I took it off one night and forgot to put it back on. This was when I still worked as a dental assistant and I didn't put my ring on so I wouldn't be tearing gloves every time I put them on. Unfortunately, I never could find it again. My husband and I looked everywhere but nothing. We found my engagement ring which I have always loved and I have been wearing that everyday. That is until he surprised me with a new ring that is gorgeous. He wanted to replace the ring I lost. What is funny is that he also lost his wedding ring when we were moving into our new apartment. He ended up getting a replacement for his as well. Have you ever lost your wedding ring or done something that was a mistake in your relationship?

Sadly I lost my very special wedding ring. It had four wedding rings in it, our own, my mothers, my grandmothers and an aunts. I was on holiday in NC we went into Tennessee and did some white water rafting. I noticed two people out of the corner of my eye hanging onto rocks as we went through a set of rapids. Their canoe had capsized throwing them into the swirling water. We turned around and paddled like mad to reach them. I pulled the kid and the man into our boat. We took them down river where their canoe had been stopped let them off. Later when we stopped for lunch I noticed my ring was missing. My friends said ok just buy another. I said no and vowed never to wear a wedding ring ever again. Although it would have been worth a lot of money for me it is more about the sentimental value.

Jewelry does have a bad time of either disappearing or breaking. I accidentally broke the necklace hubby got me at Christmas. I cannot see well enough to fix the tiny chain.

Aw well it was just an accident and I don't mean for this to sound badly but better to accidentally break a Christmas gift than to lose something that symbolizes your marriage right?

I've ony recently lost my wedding ring. I had to go to hospital for an operation. I know that I went there with the ring - which was stupid because one has to take jewellery off before one enters the operation theatre - and returned home without it. I called the hospital but they haven't found it. I don't know what to think. Maybe someone stole it.

Oh I am so sorry, wedding rings at least for me become like part of the body and I forget I even have it on at times. The way you described things going down I would assume that someone probably did take it, which is just sad.
