Tomorrow's my husband's birthday

I'm taking my husband out for dinner tomorrow night to celebrate his birthday. It'll just be the two of us. Our daughter, her husband, their son, our son and his son, our great granddaughter and our oldest son (in Maine) will all be here weekend after next, so we'll celebrate my husband's birthday then, along with our grandson's birthday (Nathan will be 16 on the 30th.) All the family will be here except for our granddaughter in Charlotte. But she was at her mom's with all of us last weekend. I got my husband an NIV Chronological Study Bible that he's been wanting, plus a few other gifts. I made a chocolate pie for him (he likes that better than cake), although now with the gluten thing, he can't eat the pie crust. I also made a yummy pot of chicken and rice soup today. If you make that, what do you put in it? I used chicken and broth with onions, celery, salt and pepper, and a little butter. We'll have it again tomorrow for lunch, I'm sure. Any myLotters with a May 16 birthday?

My birthday is right after Christmas, so you and I have to celebrate in cold weather!

Happy Birthday to your Hubby. Will you wait to give him his gifts, or will you be giving them to him tomorrow? I do not make chicken and rice soup but that is what I would put in it. I might do some julienned carrots on occasion as well.

I'll give him a couple tomorrow, then a couple when all the kids are here. He already ate a piece of his chocolate pie!

@1creekgirl Chocolate pie is so good, I hope he enjoys it. Will you be eating a piece, or did you make it expressly for him?

@1creekgirl Happy Birthday to your husband. That will be romantic the two of you and that will be nice to celebrate with the family. What does a chocolate pie taste like? I have never had one.

If you ever get to North Carolina, I will make a chocolate pie for you! It's like chocolate pudding in a pie crust with a meringue topping.

Didn't know you have a son in Maine. I'm working my way slowly through the "Narrated Bible." Not sure if it's the same one your husband got, but all the books of the Bible are broken up and put into the historical order in which their stories allegedly took place. I SORT of see a difference, but not much. In any case, enjoy your dinner with your husband on his special day. You are lucky to still have each other. But I'm sure you know that!

Thanks, Rachel! Your Bible sounds like this one...it's supposed to be arranged in chronological order, but we'll see how it works. I truly do know how blessed I am to still have my husband. My grandson is in Auburn, is that near you?

@1creekgirl It's about a two-hour ride north of here, so not that far. It's considered the "twin city" of Lewiston. As for "The Narrated Bible," it's quite the ponderous tome...a large heavy hard-cover book. I'm at Psalms now. The friend who gave it to me penciled in the dates each section should be read, according to the author's scheduling. I'm at 5-9 now, so I'm falling behind!
