2019 Health Journey -- Day 138 (May 18th)

Hello everyone, I hope you all had a great Saturday! I got back to my low carb way of eating today. My blood sugar was high this morning, but I expected that after a week of carbs. It was 194. My weight is up too of course, but I know that is water weight from all the carbs. My first meal today was 4 slices of bacon and a cheese stick. Blood sugar after was 97. I got sick after that meal, not sure if I had too much fat at one meal, or if the bacon was bad...or maybe it was just from coming off of the carbs. The next meal I had was a tuna wrap (tuna mixed with mayo and no sugar added ketchup in a low carb tortilla). Blood sugar was in the 120's after. Not horrible, but not where I want it after eating low carb. I didn't want to have a heavy meal after getting sick this morning, so skipped dinner and just had 2 peanut butter candies I made (5 net carbs each). Blood sugar after was 152 though....should have only had 1 peanut butter candy I guess. Macros: (Approx.) 1,417 calories 89 protein 99 fat 21 net carbs So that is how I did today....how do you think I did? How did you all do with your food?

Thank you, definitely didn't help my first day back on the diet! That's good, I know that can be a challenge sometimes!

Get well soon! Don't forget to monitor your food, because my mother and father also having a health problem so I always monitor them and every time we eat together I always told them "That's too much of fat, You can eat few but not too much."

I do, I put everything in MyFitnessPal. And I know the macros I need to stick to. Fat is what I eat the most of, lol.

@tech40 Oh no, that is the app that I track my food in. I don't work out daily. I need to, but haven't got around to it yet.

So sorry you got sick. I just eat everything in moderation, but stay away from sugar and too much salt, processed foods, GMOs, nitrates and nitrites, additives, food coloring, preservatives, etc. Glad your blood sugar is going down. Hope you can get it down even more.

Thank you....it's okay though. Eating in moderation is good....and that is good to stay away from those sort of things. I am not too picky on those at this point, but I think it is a smart idea! I am sure it will keep going down the more I stick to eating low carb!

Maybe try the tuna wrapped in lettuce instead of a tortilla?

I'd do that if I liked lettuce, lol. Usually the tortillas don't make my blood sugar rise.

I eat healthy for last two weeks but now I stopped little. I lost kilo nad half in 2 weeks.

Oh you have to make so much efforts. You need to have something which has probably less fat and more proteins. May be cheese or soybean?

Thank you, I appreciate that....could be from my blood sugar dropping 100 points fairly quick...who knows! I am better now though.
