The parish church in Decize is dedicated to Saint Are, fourth bishop of Nevers between 548 and 558. On his death and as was his wish, Saint Are was carried in a fishing boat on the Loire and was buried where the boat stopped.
According to legend and against expectations, the boat went upstream to Decize where the Saint was laid to rest. The church dates back to the 11th century and has undergone several extensive restorations during the 17th and 19th centuries.
My photo of the church is very ordinary so I’ve put up the Decize cat which is in front of the hotel where we had a marvellous meal. The cat image appears in the pavement at intervals showing, I think, a walking path linking places of special interest.

What a lovely cat image ! Is the Decize cat different from other cats or Decize's claim to fame is that it has this kind of cat?

Reading all your posts make me feel like visiting France and explore it. I was in Paris for two days and I could only visit Eiffel Tower and the museum.
Oh! It did not look like a cat to me on first sight.I thought that it has wings.

@JudyEv Surely there is a lot to see. If things go well, we might plan a longer vacation there in coming years. Without whiskers, it's tough to say that it's a cat.
