If a loved one was possessed....

I know this is a completely random and not so common question but I have thought about this a few times. And thought about it again while for some stupid reason watching The Exorcist alone. I saw this many years ago. I wouldn't say it scared me like it would have scared many back in it's day when it first came out but it still makes me a tad scared here and there. Anyway, if one of your loved ones was possessed, whether you believe in this or not, after they had an exorcism and appeared back to normal, would you feel safe hanging around them? I have thought about this a few times that if someone I loved was possessed by the devil / demon, that even if they were exorcised, I'd probably still be terrified of being alone with them. Again, I know this is random but I'm tired and tired Danielle makes weird conversations. ****Photo is of my TV. Watching the movie****

I've read about it and I think there are many people who are obsessed with demons, but we can only pray for them.

@Nevena83 I often look into these things too. I do believe in evil / demonic beings / spirits but not sure about possession just yet.

The Exorcist was the scariest movie to me for a long time - and I don't even believe in this stuff - but who knows. I probably would be most scared at the time when a loved one is green and cut up looking, turning their head 360, levitating, speaking with a different voice, etc . . . but I know what you mean - if they went back to normal, it would ALWAYS be in the back of my mind . . . like could it happen again .

@much2say lol exactly. That stuff would be a little bit hard to comprehend if it was all real and not make up or special effects!

@VivaLaDani13 We've all heard stories about "real" exorcisms . . . but I just don't know. I don't want to know . And hopefully we will never have to experience anything close to it in our lives (only for fun on Halloween ).

@much2say I am with you! I do sometimes research this stuff and get bloody scared lol but it just interests me. One of the cases that really interests me is a girl who was either possessed or mentally ill named Anneliese Michel. I don't know. Like you, I don't really want to know because it scares me but part of me loves these types of mysteries.

The Exorcist is one of the most scary movie I can remember for the simple reason that "it could be real". There are Exorcist Priests appointed by the Vatican, this means that the Church believes that this is something real and that may happen. I think that I would feel safe if someone I love would go through an exorcism... well, I think, but I am not sure.

@VivaLaDani13 May be that those are only sick people who are brainwashed and they think to be "possessed". I am also pretty skeptical about the matter.

@LadyDuck Thank you for your answer. The Vatican is something that interests me. Seems to be a lot of secrets / mysteries about it. But yeah I can only remember Catholic priests being the type to give exorcisms. I'm not a 100% believer in evil spirits / demons possessing a human but I have seen some weird things that make me really wonder if they could be true.

@LadyDuck I'm only on the fence. It's hard to say for me but I do believe a lot of cases are due to some bad mental illness. Or very good actors.

I went and saw the Exorcist when I was 18 (63 now) when it first came out. It scared me so bad that I haven't watched it since. Even the music to the movie will give me chills.

@VivaLaDani13 yes, that's what I heard. I also heard that Linda Blair had to go through therapy after making the movie but not sure if that's true.

@simone10 oh I wonder if that's true or not. I'm really curious now! It wouldn't surprise me after the role she had to play!

@simone10 Yeah the music is creepy! It was very scary for it's time too. Apparently that movie made a lot of people freak out to the point they were fainting.

@VivaLaDani13 I think I saw it too but cannot remember if it scared me or not. My sister is an adult anorexic and I doubt if she could ever be normal. Thank heavens she lives in the States and i live here and farther from her is great.

@Hannihar I'm sorry to hear about your sister. So are you two not close? I mean as in a sibling relationship.

@VivaLaDani13 We do not talk or write at all. She lives in the States and I live here. I told her when i did not have to deal with her anymore to leave me alone and she tried once but I did not answer her and told her to leave me alone. We have no relationship at all.

@Hannihar I'm sorry to know that something went so bad for it to get to that point but as long as you're completely fine with that, then I'm glad for you.

This is pretty scary, luckily I haven't met someone who been under exorcism or maybe if I have, he or she will get tons of questions from my mind.

@tech40 I guess it would depend on the person you're questioning. Some may be completely open about it while others may wish to keep it to themselves.

@TiarasOceanView I think I would too. Though, I think I would still be afraid that they followed me. Probably wake up with them crawling on my roof.

If I ever had such an experience I think I would be a bit scared around them until at least several years went by and everything was fine. I think that many of the people who murder others are possessed by evil.

@RasmaSandra I think I may calm down too if many years went by and it was all just a distant memory. I have actually thought that myself. I hear so many cases of really down to Earth people all of a sudden becoming evil. It's odd.

Well, apparently when I was a baby my mom started speaking tongues at a church. Don't really know what happened with that but when she told me that it didn't phase me. I believe in ghosts and evil spirits (I don't believe in demons) but anything like that has never bothered me. If someone did happen to be possessed and they were saved somehow, I would just always make sure to take care of them, that's just how I am haha

@MommyOfEli2013 I'm so glad everyone who came here didn't poke fun at my question. lol I was exhausted while typing this but it's something I have really thought about before. I am not sure either. The thought alone kinda scares me. Thank you for answering.
