Woman Attacked at the Park

I saw on the news yesterday that a man had attacked a woman at the park where I usually walk. She said he sneaked up and grabbed her from behind. She was able to fight him off and called 911. The odd thing is when she got back to the park she saw him there. She snapped a picture of him and they showed it on the news. it's hard for me to imagine how he got to the park before she did. I wonder if she made the story up. I walked there today but I only went half way in the woods and circled around twice to keep from going on the loneliest part of the trail. I was a little uneasy but I didn't see anyone that looked suspicious. In any case if it happened I don't believe that guy will be seen at the park again.

I was thinking of pepper spray but I'll check and see what's best. My brother told me to get wasp and hornet go away. He said it would stop anyone in their tracks but it sounds dangerous to use.

Maybe he didn't think she would come back and was waiting for another victim? Keep an eye out. Maybe they will do an update with further information on what happened.

You might be right,, I would have thought he would get out of the park as quickly as he could, but he could have been looking for another victim. I hope I hear the end of the story.

Why you cannot understand how he got to the park before she did? Is the park closed during the night?

@RubyHawk Now I understand and I agree with you. I would have never been back alone to check if the man was still there.

@LadyDuck, the victim didn't have a second thought about the man, especially the suspect was behind her.

No, it was during the day. I couldn't understand why she would go back to the park after being attacked. I don't believe I would have been there looking for the guy to take his picture. I'd like to hear what happened when the police got there.

It could be dangerous if there's such people like that in the park. Better carry something to protect you like a pepper spray.

O@acelawrites, it's better to have companions in passing or going to a park especially in the late afternoon, where passers are rare.

Sounds a little strange and like a story I heard here of a woman grabbed from behind while walking and then saw the man and he was later arrested. Seems to be a lot of this stuff going on , everywhere.

Hold on something I don't understand. He attacked her and she got away. Then she returned to the park to find him there and took his photo. Something does not sound right because if that happened to me I would never go back to that park again. Is this the story?

That's scary. My Mom never learned to drive so she of course walked everywhere. We were out on a hike one afternoon, Mom and I, and suddenly she started to cry. She let it out that some nasty man had run up to her and slapped her glasses off her face as she walked home from work one day. My Mom was so sturdy and strong and yet there she was, kind of crumpled as she told me her story.

That's terrible, I can understand why she was still upset. You wouldn't get over an attack easily. With so many people out there you never know. Anything can happen.

Wasn't the suspect jailed? Why was he seen in the same park again where he had done a crime? This is terrible news suspect still at large and staying in the same park.

That's what i thought. She said she called the police and he should have known she would. Surely he wouldn't wait around until they got there. But she snapped a picture of the man she said did it. I looked at the picture carefully so I'll recognize him if I ever see him.

You’d think so but I haven’t heard another word about it. Nobody I ask at the park knows it ever happened. Everybody is going on as usual. I’m still nervous. I’d like to know if they picked him up.
