Today's Lesson Learned

My FB account was logged in by someone who is 226 kilometers away from my place. That is 140.43 miles. And the origin is in another city in another island and region. This is what I discovered from my latest activity in FB. How did it happen? I remember I replied to a messenger message of unknown person. Before I did, the FB messenger warned me that once I replied that person could make a call to me, access my profile, photos and friends. I ignored it for I presumed he is a teacher wanted to join my FB page for teachers and school administrators. After I did reply to him, I went back to my FB account. To my dismay, the FB asked my password. I asked myself why, for I didn't log out yet from FB. I didn't do anything. I had referred this to you fellow myLot users. I evaluated your helpful suggestions. I didn't create a new account. Instead, I logged in using my present password. Once I accessed it, I right away change my password. Now, I learned a lesson. Do not trust unknown person using FB messenger to text you.

He didn't change it. I think what he wanted to do is phishing.

I think only one thing is sure, you logged into a site that looks like FB and or thought that it was FB but was not, change your password asap before he can access your contacts and steal your identity, good luck.

My password is strong. He wanted only to access my personal data and everything for phishing.

I am glad that the person who used your account did not change the password, at least you were able to go back.

@Nakitakona It is better to be careful on social media, they are not at all protecting their users.

@celticeagle You're right. I am over confident and I never had a second thought. It's a lesson for me to be extra careful not to trust unless I know the person.
